Our Scholarships

The Affinity Foundation has provided nearly $215,000 in scholarships to student members of Affinity since its founding in 2005. This year, you could be one of six students to receive a $2,500 scholarship!* Applications are due by May 17, 2024.

Awarded to graduating high school seniors pursuing an undergraduate degree in the fall.

Awarded to current undergraduate students transferring to an accredited two or four year college/university.

The Richard A. Romano Rutgers Scholarship

Awarded to high school, undergraduate, or transfer students pursuing an undergraduate degree at Rutgers University this fall.

Awarded to high school, undergraduate, or transfer students pursuing their degree at Raritan Valley Community College this fall.

How to Apply

Email scholarship@affinityfcu.com to request access to the community portal and login credentials.

Once your have your credentials, log in to review the application requirements and start your application.

Submit your application by May 17, 2024.

Requirements

Applicant must be:

  1. A current Affinity Federal Credit Union member in good standing and have their own member number.
  2. A United States citizen or United States resident alien.

Application

  • Contact, Membership and Academic Information.
  • Provide a detailed account of your extracurricular activities, honors, awards, community service, and work experience.
  • A written essay or video up to 2 minutes in length using the following Common App essay prompt: Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and a new understanding of yourself or others.
  • Letters of Recommendation: Provide two (2) letters of recommendation from individuals not related to you (i.e. teachers, religious leaders, guidance counselors).

I am thrilled and grateful to be a recipient of the 2023 Affinity Foundation Scholarship! Throughout my high school career, it has been an honor to be a leader within my school's music department as well as a member of my local EMS agency. With the help of this generous award, I can continue to pursue these passions at the University of Connecticut, where I will pursue a degree in Nursing.

*The Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation offers a one-time $2,500 scholarship to Affinity Federal Credit Union student members who are U.S. citizens or U.S. resident aliens and are members of Affinity in good standing. Members in good standing are defined as members not having a negative share account balance, and/or delinquency on an Affinity Federal Credit Union loan, a dormant account status, or having any liens or judgments attached to their account. Applicants are only eligible to be awarded one scholarship per academic year.
