BASKING RIDGE, N.J. — February 28, 2024 — Affinity Federal Credit Union (“Affinity”) and Affinity Foundation (“Foundation”), bring in non-profit leader Kelly Watts as the new Executive Director. With an extensive background in the nonprofit sector, Kelly brings comprehensive experience in development, communications, and leadership to her role at the Foundation.

Before joining the Foundation, Watts played a vital leadership role in the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans Memorial and Vietnam Era Education Center & Museum in Holmdel, NJ, where she served as the Executive Director for 17 years. She also held various positions at Rutgers University, The Boys & Girls Club of Mercer County, New Brunswick Tomorrow, and Fulfill of Monmouth and Ocean County.

Watts’ accomplishments include leading successful capital and annual campaigns, securing public and private sector grants, and managing major individual gift programs. Her strategic communication initiatives have been instrumental in sharing impactful stories, increasing public awareness, and fostering strategic partnerships to advance the mission and vision of organizations.

Through the efforts of Affinity Foundation, and with the support of community partners, the team has expanded the resources and grants provided to individuals and organizations since its original founding. The Foundation’s mission is to provide Affinity's members and local communities with solutions to improve financial wellness, educational programs that enable self-sufficiency, and support that ensures access to essential healthcare services. With a vision to end the cycle of poverty for those it serves, the Foundation is poised for continued growth under the new leadership of Kelly Watts.
